Two generals and up to 50 officers died in a strike on a pizza restaurant that Ukraine says killed 12 civilians, Russia has claimed. And Wagner boss Yevgeny Prigozhin has reportedly refused to sign contracts with the Kremlin, meaning his mercenaries will no longer take part in the war.

What do we know about ‘missing’ general?
A short while ago, reports emerged that senior Russian general Sergei Surovikin has been arrested.
It’s yet to be officially confirmed, but two sources told The Moscow Times that the Russian army’s second-in-command is in a pre-trial detention centre.
Mr Surovikin hasn’t been seen since Saturday, prompting some to say he was “missing”.

NATO members have tentative agreement to ask Stoltenberg to remain alliance head for another year – report
Members of the Western military alliance have reached a tentative agreement to ask secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg to remain in the role for another year, according to a US official cited by the AP news agency.
The official said the decision still needs to be finalised by alliance members.
Mr Stoltenberg, a former Norwegian prime minister, has been in the role since 2014.
His term was due to expire last year, but it was extended for a second time to keep a steady hand at the helm during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
The anonymous official said the decision to formally ask Mr Stoltenberg to extend his tenure for another year is expected to happen relatively soon.
