SEE IT: DeSantis’s office reveals sexually graphic books found in Florida schools

Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) office revealed photos on Tuesday of two sexual picture books that were found in Florida schools.

The books Gender QueerIt’s Perfectly Normal, and Let’s Talk About It have been discovered in schools across several counties in Florida, DeSantis’s deputy press secretary, Jeremy Redfern, told the Washington Examiner.

The infamous book Gender Queer follows the author’s “journey of self-identity, which includes the mortification and confusion of adolescent crushes, grappling with how to come out to family and society, bonding with friends over erotic gay fanfiction, and facing the trauma and fundamental violation of pap smears.”

In 2021, it was named one of the most challenged books in the country for its depictions of graphic sexual content that many deemed inappropriate for children. It has been banned by school boards across the country for this reason, while many have also fought to keep the controversial graphic novel on the shelves.

It’s Perfectly Normal is a children’s book about “changing Bodies, growing up, sex, and sexual health,” which is intended for those ages 10 and up. Meanwhile, Let’s Talk About It is a graphic novel branded as “the teen’s guide to sex, relationships, and being a human.”

“Found in multiple Florida schools: ‘Gender Queer,'” shared DeSantis’s communications director, Taryn Fenske, in a tweet on Tuesday.
