Thomas Massie Demands that Congress Read the Bills

On January 6, 2024, Kentucky Congressman Thomas Massie posted a link to a United States House vote on H.R. 3325 that eventually became law on August 5, 2021.

The bill in question was designed to “To award four congressional gold medals to the United States Capitol Police and those who protected the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.”

Only 21 members of the House — all Republicans — voted against this bill, with Massie being one of them.

Unbeknownst to many of the House members who voted for this bill, this bill had language that described the January 6th protestors as “insurrectionists.”

Massie brought attention to this in a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. He tweeted the following:
