Australian province of Victoria has become the latest in the world to ban all gas hookups in new homes, starting January 1st, 2024, instead going completely electric. This includes all public and private buildings.
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) added, âAll new public buildings, such as schools, hospitals, police stations and government-owned buildings, that are yet to reach a design stage must also be all-electric, effective immediately.â
Energy and Resources Minister Lily DâAmbrosio claims an all-electric home would cost less than having a gas connection, and asserts using âelectricity would also make heating a home and cooking more affordable for Victorians…
