Will there be another Covid booster jab as case numbers rise?

Around 2.3 million people are thought to have had Covid in the last week.

Covid cases are rising across the UK, likely driven by the latest Omicron variants BA.4 and BA.5.

According to government data, as of June 26, there had been a 33% increase in positive cases compared to the previous week, in England.

In the same period, there had been a 34% increase in patients admitted to hospital and a 22% increase in deaths within 28 days of a positive test.

Around 2.3 million people are thought to have had Covid in the last week, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
