A top Democratic congressman was left stunned live-on air during a Sunday interview with a mainstream media outlet where he was questioned about political interference by the Justice Department in the probe against Hunter Biden.
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), speaking with ABC News, flubbed his response to charges from a whistleblower with the Internal Revenue Service that the DOJ refused to grant Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss special counsel powers to bring charges against the Biden son in other jurisdictions. Gary Shapley, a career civil servant with the IRS, claimed to have witnessed Weiss saying he would not be the “deciding official” in prosecuting the son of President Joe Biden. Rep. Khanna said Weiss, a Trump appointee, was allowed to freely investigate Hunter Biden, a statement at odds with sworn testimony.
