Adam Schiff threatens to launch ethics investigations if any Republicans use public impeachment hearings to out the whistle-blower

  • House Intelligence chairman wrote lawmakers setting terms for blockbuster impeachment hearings to begin Wednesday
  •  He says only members of three committees may attend
  • He said the committee will not facilitate efforts to ‘threaten, intimidate, or retaliate against the whistle-blower’
  • Then he invoked laws that shield whistle-blowers from reprisal
  • He referenced House official Code of Conduct requiring members act in a way that ‘shall reflect creditably on the House’
  • Said House Ethics panel could intervene on matters ‘encompassing violations of law and abuses of one’s official position’

House Intelligence Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff issued a warning to Republican House members by saying they could be subject to Ethics Committee probes if they seek to out the whistle-blower during televised impeachment hearings.

Schiff conveyed the warning in a memo he penned for committee members on the eve of the first block-buster hearing, which begins Wednesday morning.

The purpose was to inform members about what conduct would and would not be tolerated. He provided no confirmation he would agree to hear from Republican witnesses, saying he would give them ‘due consideration.’

Schiff, who began the impeachment inquiry after hearing a whistle-blower complaint from an official who went to the inspector general for the intelligence community, also provided a warning to lawmakers.

He said the committee will not facilitate efforts to ‘threaten, intimidate, or retaliate against the whistle-blower,’ after Democrats accused Republicans of using closed-door questioning to ferret out information on the whistle-blower.

I read it as “House Belligerance Chairman”. Well mighty mouse Schiff, looks like a reporter did the right thing and released THE name. That takes the wind out of your sails; so much sooner to bring this “sorry *ss” dog and pony show to an end. It won’t be long, no longer than November, when you will be censured and like the Dust Bowl; gone with the Wind, dragging Tap Dancing Nancy behind you

The Whistle Blower Protection Act offers no “lettre de cachet”;no anonymity. I used it myself.

How would Schiff even know if anyone in congress outed the whistleblower? Because he said himself that he didn’t know who the whistleblower (actually he’s just a leaker) Eric Ciamirella is. His lies aren’t even well crafted. They’re just blatant lies, and geared for the ignorant.
