Michael Flynn lawyer Sydney Powell says upcoming DoJ IG report will clear her client: ‘No one should ever speak to an FBI agent without it being recorded’ (Video)

(TNS) We’ve always suspected the reason why retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, President Trump’s first short-lived national security adviser, was never sentenced over his guilty plea of lying to federal investigators is because he was set up from the get-go.

After all, Flynn was one of special counsel Robert Mueller’s first victims, and yet he’s never been sentenced for what should be a slam-dunk after a guilty plea. The question is…why?

His current lawyer, former federal prosecutor-turned-whistleblower Sydney Powell, thinks she knows: He was never guilty in the first place.

She believes Powell’s case was a sham — that he never really lied to FBI agents and that he was victimized by deep state anti-Trump types who were trying to depose the president via “Spygate.”

In an interview Saturday with One America News, Powell said she believes the upcoming report from Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz will actually contain evidence that will clear Gen. Flynn’s name.

She said it’s already obvious from evidence she has presented to a federal court that the FBI botched the Flynn probe by altering evidence and changing documents. In fact, she noted, she cannot obtain the original 302 interview records for her client because federal prosecutors claim they can’t find them — though she knows they are present in the FBI’s master databank in D.C.

Powell said of the IG’s report as it relates to her client it will show “that the FBI literally made it up as they went along.”

“It was a pretext from the beginning,” she continued, adding the FBI “had no valid basis to speak to Gen. Flynn in the White House” in early January 2017, just days before President Trump was inaugurated.

“The entire thing was just an appalling set up, and then he was framed by the addition of statements added to the 302 that he didn’t make, and omissions of statements he did make,” Powell continued.

“No one should ever, ever speak to an FBI agent or a federal officer without it being recorded,” she said.

Powerful stuff.
