
A Michigan county will remain a “welcoming community for immigrants” following a resolution passed ahead of Donald Trump’s return to the White House.
The Ingham County Board of Commissioners recently passed Resolution #24-613, signaling local authorities will tolerate the presence of illegal aliens in the jurisdiction and likely attract more to the area.
The move comes after commissioners in neighboring Livingston County voted unanimously to approve a resolution allowing local law enforcement to track interactions with illegals.
“[A]s a country it is not our custom to turn our backs on people who are in need, we denounce those who have played into fear tactics and attempted to close the door to immigrants who come here searching for a better life, Ingham County has been and will continue to be a safe and welcoming place for those who choose to resettle here,” states the resolution, which was introduced by the commission’s Law & Courts Committee.
