Teenage suspects charged with carjacking congresswoman at gunpoint

A 19-year-old suspect and four accomplices have been charged with carjacking Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon in Philadelphia.

Josiah Brown of Wilmington, Delaware, pleaded not guilty to firearms and carjacking charges at the arraignment hearing Thursday in federal court. Four other teenagers were also apprehended Wednesday evening in Newark, Delaware, including a 14-year-old-girl and three boys ages 13, 15, and 16.

All four suspects were charged with the felony offense of receiving stolen property over $1,500, and the 15-year-old was also charged with resisting arrest and two counts of criminal mischief. Brown is in custody until the case moves forward, while the younger suspects were released to their guardians on $1,500 bonds…
