Congress resumes process of counting electoral votes

By Adam Ford

At around 8:00 p.m. ET Wednesday Congress resumed the process of officially tallying electoral votes to presumably certify Joe Biden as the next president of the United States, hours after pro-Trump protesters stormed and occupied the Capitol Building to protest the results of the presidential election.

According to CNBC:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a letter to colleagues that the decision to quickly continue tallying votes was made in consultation with political leaders including Vice President Mike Pence, who is presiding over the joint session of Congress.
