Third Letter to My Vaccinated Friend

By James Kullander

I want to write to you now about loss. Not simple loss, which indeed exists. One can say: “I’ve lost the key to my car.” This is unfortunate if not inconvenient but nothing to grieve. I want to write about difficult loss, indistinct loss, ambiguous loss. A loss I can’t quite put my finger on. And yet it’s there, inside me day and night, what a phantom limb might feel like.

This letter is going to be longer than my first and second letters because I’ve a lot to say about things I never thought I would say.

You are not the only friend with whom I feel a yawning abyss growing between us on account of this massive, orchestrated human calamity. There are others, like you and me, because we happen to disagree on what’s been happening in our world the past two years. One friend—or former friend—looks right past me whenever we happen to run into each other in our town’s small post office. Another, on his afternoon walk, marches to the other side of the street when he passes my house. These are both people I used to host for meals in my house or for a lovely summer evening glass of wine on my patio. There’s another who, on my Facebook page, called me “an old man spewing conspiracy theories.” (She is wrong on both counts, by the way.) There’s yet another and her husband with whom my girlfriend and I would have dinner out once or twice a year. Last December, I emailed her to suggest we get together soon; it had been two year since we’d last met up. She wrote back to say “we’re not getting together with friends who aren’t vaccinated, definitely not indoors.”

Timothy says that this generation has it conscience seared with a hot iron… that is brain washing to me… and also they are deceived and believe the lies of hypocrisy… God leaves them to their reprobate ways… we believers are not to be deceived … that is the fist thing Jesus says about the times we are in. We know the signs of the times. 1 Johns says when antichrist (those who do not believe Jesus is of God) is everywhere we are in the last times. When we see these things come to pass (the beginning of sorrows) we are to lift up our heads, look up, as our redemption (of our bodies) draweth night… That redemption is in Eph 1:10-14. We are seal until that day of redemption.
